The 50th Plenary Session of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS) was held from 10 to 13 October 2022 and adjourned.
The Plenary will reconvene at FAO Headquarters in Rome on 19 December 2022 from 10:00 - 12:30 and from 14:00 - 16:30 in ‘hybrid’ format to conclude the remaining two items (II and VIII) of the CFS 50 Agenda.
CFS 50 featured a full-day ministerial segment on coordinating policy responses to the global food crisis – The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World 2022; endorsed newly agreed Policy Recommendations on Promoting Youth Engagement and Employment in Agriculture and Food Systems for Food Security and Nutrition; and focused on boosting responsible investment in sustainable agriculture and food systems through a Global Thematic Event on the CFS Principles for Responsible Investment in Agriculture and Food Systems. Additionally, the Plenary celebrated the International Day of Rural Women; reviewed the work of CFS and its HLPE-FSN toward 2030; and kickstarted the workstream on data collection and analysis for food security and nutrition.
