A new report by the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) tackles the pressing issue of achieving healthy diets for all in a sustainable way.

The 2024 Global Food Policy Report: Food Systems for Healthy Diets and Nutrition highlights the challenges of malnutrition and diet-related diseases, particularly in low- and middle-income countries.

The report emphasizes a “food systems approach” that considers the entire food chain, from production to consumption. This approach aims to address limitations in affordability, accessibility, and availability of healthy foods.

By focusing on food systems and using data to guide action, the report argues, we can achieve sustainable healthy diets for all and ensure a healthier future for our planet.
