The guidelines are the result of a partnership by IFAD and GLTN, and in consultation with the Global Donor Working Group on Land (GDWGL), to improve the tools to evaluate land tenure and governance interventions.
The Guidelines for Impact Evaluation of Land Tenure and Governance Interventions are the latest guidelines from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the Global Land Tool Network (GDWGL), and in consultation with the Global Donor Platform for Rural Development to guide future land tenure and governance interventions.
The aim of the Guidelines for Impact Evaluation of Land Tenure and Governance Interventions is to inform and strengthen the design and implementation of future land tenure and governance interventions to best support lasting tenure security and achieve related impacts on poverty, food security, gender equality, environmental sustainability and peacebuilding. The guidelines serve as a tool for researchers and land experts in designing and conducting land impact evaluations in order to generate of what works, and what does not and does not work in regards to measuring the improvement of land tenure and governance
The guidelines will improve access to tools needed to evaluate land tenure and governance interventions. They are based on a desk review of land evidence and in-depth consultations with evaluation experts, insights from stakeholders and researchers who have conducted land impact evaluations. The guidelines are currently being rolled out to build capacity and raise awareness about the importance and complexity of impact evaluation related to land tenure and governance.
