A new IFAD report outlines findings from 14 sample private sector engagement programmes across the Near East, North Africa and Europe region.
Given the need and potential of private sector engagement, as well as IFAD’s history working with the private sector, the Fund must continuously reinforce this collaboration.
The publication follows a stocktaking exercise conducted on 14 sample programmes in IFAD’s NEN region, providing a description of ongoing private sector engagement in the region, both in the sovereign and non-sovereign portfolios.
The findings provide a starting point for designing and implementing new projects that leverage private sector engagement to further improve the livelihoods of smallholder producers and spur the development of rural economies.
