In our eighth segment, the Platform interviews Claire Melamed, Chief Executive Officer at the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data (GPSDD). Claire talks about the importance of having accessible, accurate and timely data for agriculture and rural development, in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
The GPSDD is a close partner of the Donor Platform. In early 2023, the GPSDD co-organized an event with the European Commission, the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the Donor Platform to assess the data 'quantum' in agriculture and food systems. It was a consultation of minds with the donor community and key organizations involved in data initiatives, to take stock of where we stand in our ability to measure, collect, share and use data related to agriculture, food security and nutrition.
